  1. EGSPhotoAlbum Professional The picture management and presentation software for EGS

  7. This is version 3.5 of EGSPhotoAlbum Professional, the comfortable Shareware
  8. picture management and presentation software for EGS. To use EGSPhotoAlbum
  9. as full version you need a keyfile, which can be obtained by registering
  10. directly by me (see below for registration fees). Without keyfile
  11. EGSPhotoAlbum has some restrictions.

  13. What does EGSPhotoAlbum Professional offer?
  14. -------------------------------------------
  15.  
  16. EGSPhotoAlbum is a pure EGS program. It offers easy access to large
  17. collections of picture and animation files e.g. on your harddrive or on
  18. CD-ROMs with a comfort similair to that of PhotoCDs.
  19.  
  20. The current version supports the following picture/animation file formats:

  22. * IFF-ILBM (all standard formats 1 to 8Bit, EHB, HAM6, HAM8, 24Bit)
  23. * JPeg (color and greyscale)
  24. * PPM (P6 color and P5 greyscale)
  25. * QRT (also known as dump format by PD raytracer as POV-Ray)
  26. * Targa (several variants for 24Bit, 8Bit, ColorMap; incl. RLE compression)
  27. * PCX (several compressed formats for EGA1-4Bit; VGA upto 8Bit and 24Bit)
  28. * BMP (several uncompressed formats for 24Bit RGB and 8Bit or 1Bit Colormap)
  29. * TIF (uncompressed formats for 24Bit RGB, Colormap 1-8Bit and 8Bit grey)
  30. * EGS7.x window iconification file format
  31. * DEEP (24Bit and 32Bit; compressed and uncompressed)
  32. * RGB formats (RGB8 and RGBN compressed; RGB5 uncompressed)
  33. * YUV (color 1:1:1, 2:1:1, 4:1:1 and greyscale)
  34. * VLAB raw (color 1:1:1, 2:1:1, 4:1:1 and greyscale)
  35. * HHsYUVSq sequence format (sequentiel or random access)

  37. * Picture DataTypes (many formats are available as DataTypes for OS3.x users)
  38. * Animation DataTypes (many animation formats are available as DataTypes for
  39.   OS3.x users)

  41. EGSPhotoAlbum shows whole directories and (new!) even directory trees of
  42. pictures and animations with downscaled preview images automatically.
  43. Special fast loading functions for downscaled loading are used (for animations
  44. the first frame in the file is shown).

  47.   field size (max. field size can be selected)

  83.   This makes EGSPhotoAlbum a comfortable 24Bit picture  converter or
  84.   easy picture selection front end for other programs...

  92. All this is done with a font sensitive EGS user interface which can be
  93. used even on largest Screens and in full 24Bit color quality.

  95. Many extensions (as slideshow with transition effects, ...) could be
  96. integrated in the future, if there is enough response and the number
  97. of registered users will be high enough. The keyfile concept offers
  98. registered users the possibilty to use future demo versions auto-
  99. matically as update for their full version.

  102. Requirements
  103. ------------

  105. * Amiga-OS 2.04 or higher
  106.  
  107.   Amiga-OS 3.0 or higher is needed, if DataTypes should be used for
  108.   loading of pictures and animations
  109.  
  110. * EGS-System version 6.0 or higher for your graphics board or for
  111.   Amigas without graphics board (also usable as demo version)
  112.  
  113. * Much memory (at least 2MByte Fast-RAM; more is really recommended to
  114.   use EGSPhotoAlbum comfortably; the caching algorithms can use lots
  115.   of memory); low memory can lead to problems with the EGS system.

  118. Registration
  119. ------------

  121. The registration fee for EGSPhotoAlbum Professional is currently 25US$
  122. (as cheque) or 22US$ (as bank notes) for users outside of europe (see
  123. registration form for other possible currencies). Inside europe the
  124. registration fee is 30DM (see registration form for other possible
  125. currencies).
  126.  
  127. Please note: Bank transfers to my account are only allowed from germany,
  128. because extremly high charges (e.g. 20DM) are possible for such transfers,
  129. which I will not accept.

  131. English and german versions are available.
  132.  
  133. Free updates are normally available due to the keyfile concept.

  148. Information about other EGS programs
  149. ------------------------------------
  150.  
  151. Are you looking for an animation, video sequence editing,
  152. framegrabbing program for EGS or do you have a Cameron/Reisware
  153. handyscanner? Then you should take a look at EGS-TV Professional 4.2!
  154.  
  155. This shareware program (which is also developed by me) offers a
  156. comfortable usage and special effects (e.g. Blue Screen Keying) as well
  157. as harddisk recording and sequence editing functions. Esp. VLab and IV24
  158. users can experience new dimensions with EGS-TV.
  159.  
  160. EGS-TV Professional 4.2 can also be used to create animations very
  161. comfortably, as it can read all formats, which EGSPhotoAlbum supports.
  162. All pictures of a directory (independent of their format) can e.g. be
  163. imported in one go and converted to an animation. The fast scaling
  164. functions (known from EGSPhotoAlbum Professional) can also be applied.

  166. As special function, 256 greyscale handyscanners of Cameron/Reisware
  167. can be controlled by EGS-TV.
  168.  
  169. EGS-TV Professional demos should be available on places where you found
  170. EGSPhotoAlbum.

  173. Disclaimer
  174. ----------

  176. I tried my best to make this program error-free. It has been checked
  177. with enforcer and mungwall and works without problems on my configuration.
  178. Nevertheless, as there are so many possible configurations of Amigas and
  179. EGS-Systems/graphic boards, I can not guarantee that this software
  180. will work on your configuration. Especially the complex EGS-System
  181. does not have the desired stability in some situations. In cases
  182. where I found problems with EGS, I tried to workaround them, or
  183. explained them in this document.

  186. comes with no warranty, either expressed or implied.
  187. The author is in no way responsible for any damage or loss that may
  188. occur due to direct or indirect usage of this software. You use

  202. The demo version of EGSPhotoAlbum may be freely distributed and used as
  203. long as the following conditions are met:
  204.  
  205. 1) All files have to be kept together
  206.  
  207. 2) No file may be modified or crunched/packed.
  208.  
  209.    The only official way to distribute EGSPhotoAlbum demo packed is the
  210.    original egsphotoalbum.lha archive.
  211.  
  212.    EGSPhotoAlbum may not be disassembled or analysed. The limitations
  213.    integrated in the demo version may under no circumstance be removed
  214.    or bypassed.
  215.  
  216. 3) Distributors may only charge for the duplication process (including media)
  217.    and not for the software. Theese charges may not exceed the following
  218.    limits: a) Demo on a PD-disk: 8$ (US-dollar) including
  219.               postage&packing (in Germany: 12DM)
  220.        b) Demo on a PD-CD-ROM: 50$ (US-dollar) including
  221.               postage&packing (in Germany: 75DM)
  222.        c) Demo on a BBS/Mailbox/ftp-site or other electronically
  223.               callable system: Maximum charge 4$ (US-dollar) (in Germany: 6DM)
  224.               for downloading
  225.    Anyway, it must be made explictly clear to the buyer, that he does not
  226.    pay for the program (demo) itself but only for the duplication service.

  228. 4) It is not allowed to distribute EGSPhotoAlbum with any commercial product
  229.    without a written permission by me. One exception is the distribution of
  230.    the demo version with products not exceeding the above price limits (e.g.
  231.    a cover-disk magazine for 8$ or less).

  233.    The following companies have my explicit permission to distribute the
  234.    EGSPhotoAlbum demo with their products: NOVA Design, Ingenieurbⁿro Helfrich.

  236.    If you want to distribute EGSPhotoAlbum demo with your commercial product

  239. 5) The registered version may not be redistributed. It may only run on one
  240.    machine per registration. It is allowed to make a backup copy of the
  241.    original disk.
